Industrial buyers do their homework before they ever call you. By the time an engineer or a plant manager fills in a form, they have read your spec sheets, compared you to two competitors and formed an opinion. If your marketing is thin and your CRM is a mess, you are losing deals you never knew existed.

I'm Josh Curcio, partner and chief revenue officer at protocol 80. We are a HubSpot Diamond Solutions Partner based in Bradford, Pennsylvania, founded in 2002 and a HubSpot partner since 2015. We work with industrial and manufacturing companies, and this is a quick look at who we help, how we think and where the paperwork fits.

Who we help

Our clients make things: components, equipment, engineered systems, the products that go into other products. They sell on long cycles to technical buyers, and they usually come to us with one of two problems. Either their marketing is undercooked, with a brochure website and a newsletter nobody reads, or their CRM is overcomplicated, with pipelines and properties bolted on over the years until nobody trusts the numbers. Often it is both.

We built p80 for exactly those companies. Manufacturing is not glamorous to most agencies, which is why it is where we chose to go deep. We write the technical content other agencies are afraid of, and we build the HubSpot setups an industrial sales cycle actually needs.

How we think about HubSpot

We treat HubSpot as the system of record for the whole buyer journey, not as a marketing tool with a CRM attached. That means content and SEO that get your products found and cited, including by the AI assistants your buyers now ask first. It means a website that turns specifications into enquiries. And it means a CRM with the custom objects, pipelines and dashboards that match how your deals move, from RFQ to quote to order, with the integrations and data quality work that keep it honest.

We also run a HubSpot User Group for manufacturers, because the project ending should not mean the learning ends. Our virtual sessions on reporting and on what we took home from INBOUND are open to anyone running HubSpot in an industrial business, client or not.

Where Portant fits

Documents are where an industrial sales cycle slows to a crawl. Quotes, proposals and order forms get built by hand from data that already sits in HubSpot, and every retyped line is a chance to send the wrong price, part number or terms to a buyer who will notice.

Portant generates those documents from the deal record and writes the result back to the timeline. Our solutions team sets the templates and workflows up inside the client's portal, so sales triggers a quote from the deal they are already looking at, and the accuracy we fought for in the CRM reaches the paperwork too. For a manufacturer sending dozens of quotes a week, that is hours back and far fewer corrections.

Where to find us

If you make products, sell them to people who research hard, and feel your marketing or your CRM is holding you back, we should talk. Find us at protocol80.com, on our Portant partner page, or through our HubSpot Solutions Partner profile. To see the document layer inside HubSpot first, the Portant + HubSpot integration page shows it in product terms.

Build where other agencies fear to tread. That has worked for us for over twenty years.
