Overview
Generate an Elegant sales proposal slide deck from a HubSpot deal
The prospect asked for a proposal and the fastest thing to hand over is the last deck you sent. The deal name is wrong on the cover, the previous client's company survives on slide three, and the story is whatever that rep felt like telling.
This template starts the deck from the deal instead. Data merge writes the deal name, the company and the contact's name onto the cover and stamps the run date. The company name also merges into the Introduction, Problem and Value Proposition slides, so the client's name appears where the prompts ask you to write about them. Output management files the finished Google Slides deck where you tell it to.
It is a deck for presenting, not a document to send, and it suits sales reps and account executives who walk a prospect through scope and pricing on a call. Bold and Formal siblings cover the same slides in louder and bluer styles, and the whole family ladders up to proposals.
Who is this for
Is this template right for you?
Sales teams and account executives who send proposals regularly.
-
A cover that matches the deal. The deal name, company and contact come straight from HubSpot, so the first slide the prospect sees is never last month's deal.
-
Every proposal follows one argument. The same arc runs from the problem in the client's words to the next steps, so reps spend their time on the pitch instead of the structure.
-
A restrained look for considered buyers. Black type on white, serif headings and thin rules keep the pitch calm and let the client's own numbers carry the argument, which suits longer, higher-value deals.
Setup
How to set up the Elegant sales proposal deck
-
01
Step 1: Connect HubSpot and Google Slides
Open Portant, install the HubSpot app from the Marketplace, and connect the Google Drive account that will hold the deck template and the generated decks.
-
02
Step 2: Set the brand and presenter lines once
The cover and the thank-you slide carry a sample logo and the sample name "Windmill Finance", repeated in the footer of each content slide. Replace the logo and the name once, then set the presenter line ("[Your Name]") and the contact details. The Solution slide has three "Header" blocks with placeholder text and two sample stats (+10%, x12), and the pricing table shows [$0.00] rows: all are examples to overwrite for each deal.
-
03
Step 3: Check the field mapping
Four tags are already mapped: the deal name from the deal, the company name from the company, and the contact's first and last name from the associated contact. The company name appears on the cover and on the Introduction, Problem and Value Proposition slides, and the cover date is a run-time stamp in MM/DD/YYYY. Confirm the associated contact is the person you are presenting to.
-
04
Step 4: Set the trigger and the output location
Choose the deal stage or app card button that starts the run, and tell output management where to save the deck. Then open it, write the pitch and present.
Frequently asked questions
A sales proposal deck is a slide deck a rep presents to a prospect to set out the problem, the proposed solution, the value, the pricing and the next steps. This template generates the deal-specific cover and structure from HubSpot, and the rep writes the pitch.
The deal name, the company name and the associated contact's first and last name on the cover, plus the run date. The company name also merges into the Introduction, Problem and Value Proposition slides. The pitch, the numbers and the pricing are bracketed prompts for you to write.
The same slides ship in three styles: Sales Proposal Deck (Bold), Sales Proposal Deck (Elegant) and Sales Proposal Deck (Formal). This one is Elegant: black on white, serif headings, thin rules, and it merges the company name into three body slides. Bold is heavy capitals with cream and orange and merges the name only on the cover, and Formal is blue with light type. Elegant is also the only one with a pricing table slide.
The Elegant deck has a pricing table with three rows (implementation, subscription and optional extras) and a [$0.00] amount for each, followed by a summary slide with the investment and the cost of doing nothing. Nothing is calculated, so you type the amounts. The summary says the full line-item breakdown sits in an attached quote.
This one is a Google Slides deck built to be presented. The store also has HubSpot Personalised Proposal and HubSpot Sales Proposal Workflow (Portrait), which are separate templates with their own layouts, so choose by how you want to present the proposal.
The Elegant deck ships with a sample logo and the name "Windmill Finance" on the cover and thank-you slide, repeated in each content slide's footer. Replace the logo and the name in the Google Slides template once and every generated deck carries your brand.
