Overview
Generate a bold mutual action plan deck from a HubSpot deal
A mutual action plan only helps if it exists while the buyer is still evaluating. Too often the rep rebuilds it in a blank deck after the demo, retypes the company and the economic buyer from the deal, and sends it once the momentum has cooled.
This template builds it from the deal. Data merge fills the company name, the economic buyer and the date into a Google Slides deck that already carries six milestones (demo, pilot, security review, commercials, signature and go-live) and a four-week Now, Next, Then, After plan. Output management files the finished deck where your team keeps it. The look is the Bold style: uppercase section headings and a logo slot on every slide.
It suits account executives and small sales teams who run evaluation-to-close deals in HubSpot and want one owner and one date per step. The Elegant and Formal editions carry the same plan in other visual styles, and the whole family ladders up to proposals.
Who is this for
Is this template right for you?
Sales teams and account executives who send proposals regularly.
-
A plan on the table while the buyer is engaged. The deck is generated from the deal as the evaluation starts, so the milestones and the next four weeks are in front of the buyer instead of in the rep's head.
-
Names and owners match the CRM. The company, the economic buyer and the owner of each milestone come from HubSpot, so the plan cannot name the wrong person on the step that decides the deal.
-
A plan that looks designed, not pasted. The Bold edition gives every slide uppercase headings and a logo slot, so the plan reads as a branded asset your team sends rather than a checklist pasted into a blank deck. It stays a Google Slides file your team can edit.
Setup
How to set up the mutual action plan deck
-
01
Step 1: Connect HubSpot and Google Slides
Open Portant, install the HubSpot app from the Marketplace, and connect the Google Drive account that will hold the deck template and the generated plans.
-
02
Step 2: Set your logo and details once
The deck carries a LOGO slot on every slide and bracketed placeholders for [Champion / Your Name], [Vendor], [you@company.com], [+0 000 000 000] and [company.com]. Drop your logo into each slot and replace the brackets once. The milestone dates are [Date] placeholders because they are agreed with each buyer, so fill those on the generated deck.
-

Step 3: Check the deal mapping
Company Name comes from the deal's associated company, and Deal Economic Buyer comes from the deal's economic buyer property (the property is named for the MEDDPICC economic buyer). Confirm both match how your portal names them; if your team stores the economic buyer somewhere else, remap that one tag.

Step 4: Set the trigger and filing
Choose the deal stage change or app card button that starts the run, then tell output management where to save the generated deck.
Frequently asked questions
A mutual action plan is a shared checklist that takes a deal from today to go-live, with one owner and one date for every step. Both the vendor and the buyer work from it, so a slipped date is visible early. This template generates one as a Google Slides deck from a HubSpot deal.
The cover and the milestone owners use the associated company's name and the deal's economic buyer property: the economic buyer fills the Presented to line, the Commercials owner and the pilot review step, and the company name fills the cover, the Security review and Signature owners and the first step of the four-week plan. The cover date comes from the run timestamp in MM/DD/YYYY format.
The rep does, with the buyer. Dates are agreed per deal, so they are placeholders in the template rather than merged fields. Merge fills the names, and each owner is already written into its milestone, such as the buyer's company on the security review.
The plan starts at the demo milestone and runs through go-live, so it fits a deal that has reached evaluation. The deck suggests reviewing it for five minutes at the end of each weekly check-in.
The Bold edition has uppercase section headings and a logo slot on every slide, with six milestones. The same plan is also available as Mutual Action Plan Deck (Elegant) and Mutual Action Plan Deck (Formal), so pick the look that fits the buyer and the deal.
Yes. The template is a Google Slides file, so you can rename a milestone, add or remove one, or rewrite the four-week steps before connecting it. Keep the merge tags in double curly braces where you want HubSpot data to appear.
