What is a sales order?

A sales order is a document a seller issues to confirm the details of a sale to a customer: the products, quantities, prices and delivery terms. It is often created from a customer’s purchase order and used internally to fulfil the order. To use it, open the Google Doc, make your own copy, and add the order.

Processing lots of orders? Keep them in a Google Sheet and generate a sales order for each row with Portant, then send a confirmation. The same data can flow into the invoice so you never retype line items.

Looking for something more specific? Browse our purchase order template and order form template, or convert Google Forms to Docs.
